IEE responds to consulting opportunities that are consistent with our mission and the implementation of Research and Development for the Triple Bottom Line. Representative recent examples include:
Our work for Arup, a global engineering and design firm, was to provide a state-of-the-art description of how people interact with the urban built environment, toward reducing the carbon footprint of cities. In turn, Arup consults with the C-40 Cities project.
We were invited to participate on the Council for LAUNCH: Beyond Waste, a partnership of NASA, the U.S. State Department, USAID, and Nike. LAUNCH is a global initiative to identify and support the innovative work poised to contribute to a sustainable future and accelerate solutions to meet urgent challenges facing our society. IEE is also providing LAUNCH with a structure for strategic planning and evaluation.
IEE provides the online knowledge base for the East Bay Environmental Network, a peer-to-peer network of business and local governments devoted to lowering their carbon footprints.
IEE’s Executive Director consulted with the Environmental Protection Agency on the awarding of prestigious research fellowships to promising social scientist graduate students.
